This is written in plain language on purpose — here's exactly what New To Fishtown collects, why, and what happens to it. Nothing here is sold to third parties.
Trash-day lookup
When you look up your trash day, the address you type is sent directly from your browser to the City of Philadelphia's own public address API to find your collection day — we don't see that request. Separately, we log the address you submitted in our own database, so we can see which parts of Fishtown are actually using the tool. That's it — we don't use it to contact you or connect it to anything else you do on the site.
Checklist signup
If you sign up for the First 30 Days checklist, we store your email address so we can send you the checklist and the welcome email series described on that page. We use Resend to send those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, which removes you from future sends.
Suggest-a-business submissions
If you suggest a business or flag an update through the submit form, we store what you entered — the business info, your message, and your email if you gave one — so we can review it and follow up if we have a question. Submissions go into a private review queue; nothing publishes automatically, and nothing you submit becomes public unless we actually add it as a pick.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share any of this with third parties.
- We don't use it for advertising or tracking you across other sites.
- We don't require an account or password for anything on the site.
